2011 Rescue Mission Food Drive![]() Every year the Mission partners with Lebanon Rescue Mission and Water Street Ministries for the Annual Fall Food Drive. The impact of our paternship is tremendous! Last year we served over 380,000 meals (147,286 at the York Rescue Mission) all provided by your generous donations. This year we expect those numbers to be even higher. The York Rescue Mission is planning to meet the needs of over 5,000 men, women and children in our community this holiday season. We are inteding to supply approximately 1,600 Thanksgiving dinners to (individuals and families) living in poverty within York County. To do this we need 224,000 pounds of non-perishable food items! Christmas Children's Outreach![]() Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the York Expo CenterJesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" Matthew 19:13-14 NLT Christmas is the perfect time to introduce Jesus to our children. The Children's Christmas Outreach shares the birth of Jesus and who He is today; our Lord and Savior. At the York Rescue Mission we believe that each child is precious; fearfully and wonderfully made. Every year more and more children are coming, which means we need more gifts than previous years. You can help by filling a backpack with age appropriate items for newborn to 18 years of age, boy and girl. Some ideas are:
Please place all items in a Ziploc see-through bag for safety purposes. We must be able to examine all items donated before placing them in a backpack. Also label the bag with the appropriate age and if it's for a boy/girl.
